My old man had one a few years back. As long as you do what they tell you in terms of rehab you should be fine. If you don't bother then it'll fuck it up.

Friend of mine had one of his done in June and he's just getting back to normal now. He's a fit bloke and has followed the physio religiously. After 6 weeks he swore he'd never have the other one done as he expected to heal quicker than it did, but now, 12 weeks later, he's more than pleased with the op and is planning to have the other knee done asap. Can't rush the healing process, it just takes time.

Yes I fucking well had one and wish I never had. 3 years ago a butcher said that I just needed an endoscopy to tidy up a ligament and that I would be back doing verything normally with a couple of weeks. Had the op and they get you walking down stairs immediately, felt good. Followed the physio religiously and then it started swelling up and really hurting, worse than the original problem. Original butcher, private by the way not NHS, said it will be fine after a bit nothing to worry about. Got a second opinion, cut a long boring story short I had to have a complete knee replacement as the bone had dies. They all closed ranks so couldn't prove that butcher No 1 had done anything wrong.
Anyway 3 years on and it still swells up and gives me jip on a regular basis and I still do the physio just to keep the swelling and pain at bay. So good luck but don't believe all these you're up and about doing cartwheels in 6 weeks because you won't be.
